Questions we hear most

Do you take my insurance?

We answer by plan type: a dental plan through work or the marketplace, a Medicare Advantage plan with dental, Florida Medicaid or CHIP, or no coverage. Call with the name on your card and we tell you where we stand before you book. The table on this site's home page and How fees work have the details.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay at the visit. Ask for the sliding-fee form, which uses household size and income, and for a written estimate before any treatment. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Ask us before you book. We tell you plainly whether we are enrolled with your plan, and what we do if we are not.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area before anything that could hurt, and you can raise your hand to stop at any time. Some soreness afterward is common. The dentist tells you what to expect before you begin.

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

The dentist decides after your exam, from your teeth and gums, not from a calendar.

What is a deep cleaning?

A longer cleaning below the gum line, for gums that have pulled away from the teeth. The dentist tells you if you need one and why.

Do you see children?

Our work is with adults and older adults. If you are looking for a children's dentist, we can point you to one.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a serious blow to the head or bleeding that won't stop needs an emergency room or 911. A broken or knocked-out tooth, a broken denture or pain that won't wait: call us first.

Do you offer sedation?

We use a local anesthetic to numb the area. We do not offer sedation beyond that. If you need more, we refer you to a dentist who does.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask when you book or at any visit. It lists each step we expect and the fee for each, in large print if you would like.

Do you speak Spanish?

Dr. Arrieta and Leticia speak Spanish and English, and every page of this site and our forms are also in Spanish.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call us or send a message from the contact page. Tell us as early as you can so another patient can have the time.

Still have a question?

Call, or send a message and Leticia will reply.
