Dentures

Full and partial dentures

Dentures replace teeth that are missing: all of them (full) or some of them (partial). Provided by a general dentist, Dr. Arrieta or Dr. Nazarian.

We start by listening to what you want to eat, say and look like, then look at your mouth and explain what each kind of denture can and cannot do.

What happens

From the first exam to a finished fit

Most patients need three to five visits, plus adjustments afterward. The dentist gives you your own range.

  1. 01

Step 1: Exam and a talk

The dentist looks at your mouth and gums and explains the options.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Impressions

We take impressions of your mouth so the denture can be made to fit it.

  3. 03

    Step 3: A trial fitting

You try the denture before it is finished, and we change what needs changing.

  4. 04

Step 4: Your dentures, and adjustments

We fit the finished denture and see you again to ease any sore spots.

Good to know

  • Comfort

We numb the area with a local anesthetic before any tooth removal, and you can ask us to stop at any time. New dentures feel strange at first, and sore spots are common in the first weeks; we adjust the fit.

  • If you wait

Missing teeth can let the teeth beside them shift, and chewing gets harder. The choice is yours. We explain a partial, a full denture and leaving things as they are, and what each means.

  • Risks and after-care

Dentures can break, loosen as your gums change, and cause sore spots. Clean them every day, take them out at night and come back for adjustments. The dentist explains the risks before you decide.

  • How it is billed

We give you a written estimate before treatment, and nothing starts until you agree to it.

About dentures

How long does it take to get dentures?

Several visits over a few weeks. The dentist gives you your range after the exam.

Will they feel normal?

They take getting used to. Speaking and eating feel different at first, and we adjust the fit as you do.

Can you repair my old ones?

Often, yes. We look at them first and tell you what a repair or a reline involves.
