Emergency visits

What counts as an emergency, and what to do first

For a broken or knocked-out tooth, a broken denture or pain that won't wait, call us. Provided by a general dentist.

  • Call 911 or go to an emergency room

For swelling that spreads, trouble breathing or swallowing, a serious blow to the head or bleeding that won't stop.

  • Call us right away

For a broken or knocked-out tooth, a broken denture, a lost filling or a toothache that keeps you up.

  • What to do first

Rinse your mouth gently with warm water. Keep a knocked-out tooth in milk and bring it. Bring the pieces of a broken denture. Don't put aspirin on the gum.

Same-day visits

How an urgent visit works here

We hold time for urgent problems when we can, and we can't promise it. Call and we'll tell you the next opening. We are not open around the clock: if you call after hours, leave a message and we call back the next morning.

About emergencies

What counts as a dental emergency?

Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a serious blow to the head or bleeding that won't stop needs an emergency room or 911. A broken or knocked-out tooth, a broken denture or pain that won't wait: call us first.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area before anything that could hurt, and you can raise your hand to stop at any time. Some soreness afterward is common. The dentist tells you what to expect before you begin.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask when you book or at any visit. It lists each step we expect and the fee for each, in large print if you would like.

Need us today?

Call, and we will tell you the next opening.
